Lost , stolen & found dogs

Have you seen Gemma???

Female Rottweiler Lost in Cumbria, Walking up Scafell in the Lake District National Park. Gemma ran off down the mountain through into the valley south of Scafell at approximately 2pm on Sat 14 June, was seen briefly by other walkers and not seen since.

She still had her black lead attached on a red harness on her. She also has a red collar on with white bones around it with a name tag with our mobile phone number and address on.

She is a very friendly, affectionate dog who loves people. She is quite small for a rottweiler, aged approximately 18months, is black/tan in colour and has a docked tail and the traditional markings of the breed.

Great News !!!!!!!!!

SHE'S FOUND!!!!!

Gemma was found today by the Wasdale mountain rescue, they had a call to rescue some missing walkers and whilst looking for them they found Gemma at the same time, she was found at the same place she had disappeared, she is very thin and has a wound on her rear leg which looks like her lead was wrapped around it and she had to chew it off, ( the lead that is). BBC radio Cumbria has covered it with an interview and pictures, if you want to have a look, also the very wonderful Wasdale Mountain Rescue have put the story with pictures on their web site, 13 days she survived on top of the highest mountain range in England, its heartbreaking to think she was waiting at the spot she lost us for 2 weeks in some awful weather, but it just goes to show what a wonderful character and loyal instinct rotti's have, not to mention how resilient.

Both sites are easy to to google and worth a look, if your feeling generous the Wasdale Mountain Rescue is run by volunteers by donation, or just a note to say well done would be great as the rescue team had nothing but nice words to say about the rescued Rotti and her temperament after such an ordeal.

I think after a trip to the vets for a check up and lots of TLC, not to mention lots of food Gem should be back to full strength and weight in no time, you can count her ribs just now

We are one happy Rotti family
